Gearbulk

Gearbulk has welcomed the third in a series of eight Fleximax II open hatch jib crane vessels, Nandu Arrow, into its fleet.

At a ceremony at Oshima Shipbuilding Co, Ltd in Japan, Nandu Arrow was named by Karienne Farry, wife of Simon Parry of Rio Tinto Alcan, a long-term customer of Gearbulk.

Nandu Arrow is joining sister ships Toki Arrow and Kiwi Arrow, both of which were delivered in late 2010. All three have a deadweight of 62,900 metric tonnes, are 200 metres long and have eight open hatch holds.

The remaining five vessels planned for the Fleximax II class are scheduled for delivery between mid-2011 and early 2012.
